WELCOME

I'm Dawn Marie.  Thanks for stopping into my page  I am a member of Cold Lake First Nation and am a Cree and Metis  Contemporary  Artist.  As a student of the Boreal Forest Institute, I have met and been in studio with some great teacher/mentors.  Alex Janvier, Joane Cardinal-Schubert, Jane Ashe Poitras, Edward Poitras, Brian Clark and Rebecca Belmore continue to influence my work.

I spent many years using my artistic abilities to work with at-risk youth through art integration to get them expressing their knowledge or creating safe spaces to confront and heal from trauma.  I believe that art is a necessary tool to help people.
